Prognostic value of elevated post-surgery serum CD44 levels in oral squamous cell carcinomas

Serum CD44 levels

More than 50% of oral cancer patients die as a result of uncontrolled loco-regional recurrence. Availability of reliable method/s distinguishing high risk recurrent tumours from regressive tumours prior to surgery could help in better management of the disease. This study is aimed to estimate pre-surgical and 7 days post-surgical serum CD44 concentration using ELISA and assess the possibility of using it as a non-invasive prognostic tool in oral cancer
