                         PROPIONYLATION AND BUTYRYLATION

Two novel, in vivo post translational modifications, propionylation and butyrylation of lysine residues have been reported in histone H4.These are catalyzed by acetyltransferases p300 and CREB-binding protein(CBP) [Chen Y et al,(2007)].
