Histone H4

Histone H4 is one of the slowest evolving protein. Histone H4  genes are constitutively expressed throughout the cell cycle[ Rohinton T. Kamakaka et al ,(2005) ]. Its sequence has remained almost invariant for the past 2 billion years of evolution.
