Histone modifying enzymes: The Erasers

Post-translational modifications on histones are dynamic marks alter the chromatin state and expression. The epigenetic marks are removed by a group of enzymes called ‘Erasers’ and are categorized into 4 different categories. These include Histone deacetylases (HDACs), Histone demethylates (HDMTs/KDMs), Phosphatases, Deubiquitinases.

Types of Erasers Arginine demethylase, Lysine deacetylase, Lysine demethylase, Lysine deubiquitinase, Serine/threonine/tyrosine phosphatase
