Histone Lysine Deacetylase

Histone acetylation marks are removed by the class of enzymes named 'histone deacetylases' (HDACs). They contain a 'histone deacetylase' catalytic domain that mediates this function. Eighteen deacetylases are known in case of mouse that is coded by eighteen genes.
